We chose a rich, dark blue for the walls to anchor the space and give it depth. The colour creates a sense of calm and makes architectural features such as alcoves and the fireplace feel more defined, turning them into natural focal points rather than background elements.
Soft furnishings were layered to make the room inviting and comfortable. Upholstered seating provides generous places to sit and relax, while rugs and throws add warmth and texture, so the space feels as good as it looks.
The result is a living room that works throughout the day and into the evening. It feels relaxed and practical for family life, but also elegant enough for entertaining. As the clients told us, the deep blue walls make the room feel welcoming during the day and especially atmospheric by the fire in the evening.
This project shows how confident use of colour and careful layering can transform a simple lounge into a space that supports both everyday living and special moments.
