Sometimes you can walk into a home, and it just feels luxurious - even if you can’t put your finger on why. Often that feeling comes from the details you barely notice but experience daily. These subtle high-end touches were the ones are clients asked us to bring to their six bedroom period home in the De Vere conservation area in Kensington, London.

Our brief was a gentle stylistic touch, but with real care given to the underlying design – this meant a wholesale shaping of the interior architecture – from re-working kitchen and bathroom designs to bringing in new lighting, layouts, flooring and paint colours.

Now soft stair lighting guides at night. Carpets flow seamlessly from room to room. Rimless downlights create clean ceiling lines. Beautiful metal switches feel deeply satisfying to use. An old-fashioned kitchen has been replaced with one that works organically making cooking a pleasure once more. There are handheld showers in the baths for flexibility, and recessed niches in shower enclosures for elegant, practical storage. Beautiful lighting in wardrobes and storage spaces to make life easy. Our work quietly but powerfully changed how this home feels to live in.

The kinds of details we introduced are absorbed on a subliminal level. They may appear like small design decisions but altogether they create a quiet but unmistakable sense of luxury.
