Modern Office Space
IProject completed: 2022 | Location: Oxfordshire | Project type: Commercial office refurbishment and workplace interior design
Healthcare Research Worldwide (HRW), a global healthcare market research agency in Wallingford, asked us to transform their dated open-plan office into a modern, flexible workplace their hybrid team would genuinely want to return to post pandemic. The existing office interior felt stark and impersonal, dominated by dark teal flooring and lacking warmth or variety in how it functioned.
Rather than replace the carpet, we used it as the foundation for a richer, more welcoming commercial interior design scheme. Burnt orange, soft greys and natural wood tones were layered in to soften the space and give the large footprint a more human, comfortable feel.
We re-planned the layout to create clearly defined yet connected zones for different styles of working. A central communal dining area now acts as a social hub, while relaxed lounge-style meeting spaces support informal collaboration. Upholstered pods and quieter corners provide areas for focused work, and a dedicated breakout zone adds an important wellbeing element to the office environment.
Textured wall finishes, bespoke joinery and integrated planting bring warmth and visual interest while also improving acoustics, which is a key consideration in any open-plan office design. Every element was designed to feel professional, welcoming and easy to use.
Since completion, HRW has seen a clear increase in office attendance and positive feedback around comfort, morale and team connection. The result is a flexible, future-facing workplace that supports productivity while strengthening company culture.
