Oxford City Sanctuary

This central Oxford property was inherited by the client, who chose to transform it into a high-end, turnkey Airbnb rather than use it as a primary residence. The brief was to create an interior that would attract bookings, photograph well, and remain practical for regular guest use whilst celebrating Oxford’s heritage.

We approached the project as a boutique hospitality space rather than a typical holiday let. Our aim was to offer guests the ease and comfort of a well-designed hotel suite, combined with the character and privacy of a city-centre apartment.

Careful space planning ensured the apartment feels comfortable and easy to navigate, even at full occupancy. The colour palette blends warm tones with soft neutrals, creating a sense of ease and familiarity, while layered textures, including wood, leather and subtle metal accents add depth and quiet sophistication that make this Airbnb stand out in a competitive marketplace. Throughout the apartment, we use the detailing to reference Oxford’s cultural and academic heritage which appealed to overseas travellers.

Flippa Interiors managed the project from concept through to final styling, allowing the client to move seamlessly from inheritance to income-generating asset. The finished apartment now operates as a highly successful, five-star-rated Airbnb, offering guests a calm, thoughtfully designed base from which to experience the city, while delivering strong and ongoing returns for its owner.
